So Lazer Prime was always meant to be RID Scourge from the beginning. Interesting.
Wait, what? How did you get that from what I said? His '95 counterpart is the Megatron and Starscream pack from the same year, I even posted a picture of it.
Emerje
Oh. I thought you meant G2 Optimus Prime who was a repaint of the G1 original with a black trailer and extra bits.
It would have been interesting.
You misunderstood.
I expected G2 Prime VS Laser Prime.
The real keyword would be 1995.

Sabrblade wrote:There were lots of instances in G2. The name "Afterburner", for example, was originally an Autobot Technobot in G1, but in G2 was instead the name of a Decepticon Skyscorcher.-Kanrabat- wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:-Kanrabat- wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:Same, otherwise it's like saying that every person called Paul has to be exactly the same...An argument taken to the extreme I know but you get the point. We shouldn't get hung up on characters reusing G1 names
And that's why people should stop making a big deal out of this.
They started doing it right after G1 and it's been over 3 decades already since G1's finale.
Agreed, wasn't there an instance of it in G2?
On top of my mind, I don't think so.
So, it would be after G2 that names began to jump around. Unless it would count for Lazer Optimus and Tank Megatron, who had different shapes.
And then there's probably the most famous name-reuse in G2, "Sureshot". In G1, the name belonged to an Autobot Targetmaster. In G2, he was Optimus Prime in all but name.
Then why did YOU?-Kanrabat- wrote:Sabrblade wrote:But he never mentioned the Dec. 1992 G2 Prime.-Kanrabat- wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Keyword in his post: "Laser"-Kanrabat- wrote:Emerje wrote:-Kanrabat- wrote:Emerje wrote:

And I was waiting on it to do my top 5 Cheetor toys list but it's gonna be hard because none stand out, not even the MP. All are ok, but not great. Number 1 might go to the transmetal and number 2 might go to the Universe/Nightslash BM version. For an amazing and well loved character, he hasn't gotten many great toys.

Not personally interested in this guy, but if concept art characters from the movies culminates in characters like ROTF Springer getting Studio Series figures, that’d be cool!
I would prefer getting our on-screen cast finished first though. Give us Que, Hatchet, Frenzy, Devcon, and the huge roster of missing characters from AOE/TLK!

It definitely feels like this brand team doesn't like Bayverse all that much, with how much Studio Series has been diluted with other stuff over the last couple of years. 1986 was fair enough, but since then we've had video games thrown in there and now they're dipping into concept designs for characters who aren't in the films, it's like they're jumping on any possible reason to not make Bayverse characters. It's a shame too, because there are so many good Bay designs that are long overdue new toys, like Que, Onslaught and Frenzy.
Personally I have no interest in the Beewun designs so this Megatron is a very easy pass for me, but I know it will most likely be a massively popular toy once it's out.
